A government-funded fruit and vegetable processing plant in rural Meghalaya is part of a farmers' cooperative that emphasises a participatory development approach.
The facility enables skill development and local job creation by providing a complete value chain with infrastructure and capacity building for local people. Effective market linkages and livelihood promotion for both farming and non-farming villagers are supported.
